Richard Katz

Editor, The Oriental Economist Report

Richard Katz is Editor of The Oriental Economist Report, a monthly newsletter on Japan, as well as the semi-weekly TOE Alert e-mail service on Japan, and a special correspondent at Shukan Toyo Keizai, a leading Japanese business weekly. Mr. Katz is the author of two books on Japan: Japan: The System That Soured–The Rise and Fall of the Japanese Economic Miracle (1998) and Japanese Phoenix: The Long Road to Economic Revival (2002). He regularly writes essays and op-eds for major magazines and newspapers, has testified before Congressional committees, and did a stint as adjunct professor of economics at the New York University Stern School of Business.
